This is where I ramble about the things I did\think about during those times.

The Caretaker.

23/4/2024

I discovered The Caretaker on august of 2019 and I immediatley became a fan of his work since then. firstly, I like all types of music and the songs that were used are all good on their own even without the symbolism of the album. I've always loved talking with the elderly and learning life and experience through their wisdom and knowledge. The Caretaker made me understand how alzheimer disease is more than just forgetting stuff and it made me even more respectful to the elderly. What makes it really click to me is that alzheimer is a real thing that COULD affect you or not, a disease that doctors are struggling to figure out a cure for while things like AIDs and Cancer are almost nearly curable now. despite all of that, it is really haunting and still terrifies me, yet I keep coming back to the albums and listening to them, appreciating the effort thats been put through to let the listener understand the struggle. The album actually made me have second thoughts about certain things and caused me to be more social with my older relatives, I visit my great nan bi-weekly and my grandparents weekly. always telling them about my day, be more chatty and extroverted and overrall letting them know that I'll be there for them until the time comes to say goodbye. my favorite track in the whole album is Quiet Dusk Coming Early, though I also like Their story is lost from An Empty Bliss and All Eyes Bewildered from Everywhere an Empty BLiss. I also love how The Caretaker's work lead to the explosion of a community of sampling enthusiasts to look for the original songs or even create original fan albums. projects like "Everywhere In The Beginning Of Nowhere" , "Nowhere At The Millennium Of Space" , "Somewhere At The Beginning Of Time" which is my personal favorite and "VjCD" are good examples of fan projects worth listening to. What I learnt from all of this is that regardless of how life can be, we will all return back to our maker in peace, even if we lost ourselves before death. side note, ivan seals artworks are so beautiful, I wanna paint like him someday.
